At Alamo City CrossFit, our main programming encompasses CrossFit training methodology. Each day’s workout is always 1-hour in duration but is always different. It includes a warm-up, followed by skill/gymnastics training or weightlifting. The hour also incorporates a “Metcon” which is a workout involving repeated and/or sustained high-intensity exercises (rowing, running, push-ups, e.g.) with short rest periods in order to burn fat and create a “conditioning” effect. Our classes end with “Accessory” work which focuses on improving on areas of specific weakness. Our programming is based on that which is utilized by CrossFit Invictus.
At Alamo City CrossFit, we also provide additional specialty programs including Weightlifting. Open to all members of Alamo City Crossfit, these classes focus on the two Olympic lifts: the Clean & Jerk and the Snatch. Training regarding these movements will be in-depth with additional supplemental elements of both lifts.
At Alamo City CrossFit, we also provide additional specialty programs including Competitor Training. These classes are for any Alamo City CrossFit athlete who wants to take their training to the highest level. You may participate in these classes even if you do not specifically wish to compete outside the box. In addition to the weekday training either in set classes or during open gym hours, athletes will train together on Saturday mornings during a dedicated 2.5-hour class.
At Alamo City CrossFit, Personal Training is available to any athlete who prefers personalized programming and one-on-one coaching. If you would like to improve your skills or take your training to the next level, our coaches are available throughout the day for private one-on-one sessions. Semi-private training can also be established incorporating 2-3 athletes, ensuring more personalized attention and instruction. Semi-private training is less expensive per individual and thus offers a great value.
At Alamo City CrossFit, we also provide additional specialty programs including CrossFit Core. These classes occur at noon on Tuesdays and at 5:30 & 6:30 on Fridays. Similar to our regular CrossFit classes, Core training is 1-hour in duration but changes every week. It includes a core-focused warm-up, followed by core-related skill work or weightlifting. The hour ends with a “Metcon” which is a workout involving repeated and/or sustained high-intensity exercises specific to strengthening core.
